I was very pleased to contribute to a live discussion during the Voice of Islam Radio Drive Time show Monday 19th June 2023, which aimed to raise awareness of modern day slavery and how it is on the rise, exploring the following questions:

1. What are the main factors contributing to the rise of modern slavery in recent years?

2. In what ways do poverty and income inequality contribute to the vulnerability of individuals to modern slavery?

3. The relationship between conflict and instability and the growth of modern slavery?

4. What are some of the challenges in accurately measuring and assessing the scale of modern slavery worldwide?
